Refund Policies

As you are aware you may book a property many months in advance of your trip. The owner has agreed to hold the property for your use during your trip. When the property is being held for you, it obviously cannot be rented to someone else. Therefore, like many other travel items such as tour packages, cruises and airline tickets, when booking/reserving a vacation rental home, you will usually need to make a full or partial payment to the property owner in advance in order to hold the property.

This is normally not a problem, HOWEVER if you have to cancel your trip (especially at the last minute), you should be aware that you may forfeit all or a portion of your rental fees. There are ways however to protect yourself.  Here are a few tips:  Make sure you know what the cancellation policies are for the property you are renting. Also consider purchasing Trip Cancellation Insurance.

Are you eligible for a refund if you have to cancel your vacation rental?  That will depend on the cancellation/refund policy of the property you are renting. Usually the more notice that you are able to give, the better chance that the property can be re-rented and the more likely that you will be able to secure a partial or a complete refund.  Some properties may allow you to transfer your vacation to another time period. Bidavilla recommends you carefully review and discuss with the owners their cancellation/refund policy for the specific property.

Any changes to reservations, such as a change in travel dates or specific rental unit, will not be cause for reimbursement of fees paid to Bidavilla. If there is an increase in the rental fee due to changes, Bidavilla, at their option, may collect the additional fees due. This includes being moved to any property whether listed or not listed on Bidavilla which is owned or managed by the same owner/agent as the original property booked.
